As a caregiver, you have the right to:
- Acknowledge your feelings
- Recognize your limits of endurance & strength
- Take time out to learn caregiving skills & seek out accurate information
- Ask for help
- Receive appreciation & emotional support
- Take time out for your own health, spirit & relationships
- Provide care at home as long as you are able but remember - no one can be a caregiver forever
- Access available services that aid in caring
- Take pride in your accomplishments & applaud your courage
- Take care of yourself - this is not a selfish act
- Protect your individuality/identity
- LAUGH!
