The Vimy Memorial and Park is open from April 1 to November 15. Guided tours are available in both French and English. Visitors may receive a guided tour of the Grange Subway, a 250-metre stretch that has been preserved.
You are about to enter the Grange Tunnel. Take notice of the preserved trenches which were known as " Crater Post"

The British commander of the Corps, General Sir Julian Byng's plan called for his four divisions to attack together on a four-mile front from Thélus to Souchez. This plan included careful preparations and rehearsals, complete briefings for everyone taking part (even the private soldiers) and the imaginative use of machine-guns and artillery.
One of its unique features was the use of tunnels to enable him to bring his men and their stores and equipment close to the front lines, secretly and protected from shellfire.
